ICS owns and operates the world’s first independent climatic wind tunnel dedicated to power sports, UTV, LSV, and electric research, development and testing. This facility is offered to all current and future OE customers with real-time data and results.
U.S. Testing Capabilities
Blower
Allows 0-75 mph (0-120 km) wind speeds at the vehicle. The blower is powered by a 200hp motor and VFD adjustable to 1% granularity. Directional wind veins at the rear of the blower area allow customized wind stream profiles across the vehicle.
Solar, Refrigeration & Humidity
Simulate solar loading on all sides of a vehicle with a full-spectrum lighting array at 1000 W/m2. The tunnel's ambient variable ranges from -20 to 50°C (-4 to 122°F). And humidity system controls allow us to test other variables, including demist compliance testing.
SLA Machine
Growing temperature-ready parts rapidly and efficiently, we can quickly test revisions to optimize efficiency. Parts can be grown to a maximum size of 60 x 60 x 50 cm (23.6 x 23.6 x 16.7 inches).
SLA Clean Room
Supports the SLA machine and provides our engineers everything to clean and cure SLA printed parts.
Environmental Durability Test Chamber
We endurance test critical components at a temperature range of -40 to 104°C (-40 to 220°F).
Thermal Imaging
Visualizing the impact of hot and cold air in our systems allows us to maximize heat transfer and optimize air flow.
Anechoic Chamber
Provides a controlled acoustical environment to evaluate noise emissions on our designs.
Machine Shop
For everything other than plastic components, our machine shop has the tools to fabricate custom metal parts.
Customer Secure Area
A dedicated and lockable garage area to work and modify advanced concept vehicles. With direct access to the climate tunnel and office area for customers.
Salt Spray Corrosion Testing
Used to test and evaluate the resistance of component finishes to extensive salt spray testing, ensuring the quality and durability of the parts that go into ICS systems.

Heater Rejection Performance
Control of test parameters based on PC control for high-temperature radiators, low-temperature radiators and heater cores.
External Corrosion Test
Perform cyclical corrosion tests according to ASTM B 117, ASTM G 85, and similar standards. Performs both wet and dry cycles at temperatures from 30 to 60ºC, with an inner dimension of 1800 x 1000 x 1000 (mm).
Corrosion Resistance Test (CCDT)
Corrosion chamber manufactured according to the specification 92111NDS00, with full humidity control and a temperature range of 20 to 73°C.
Temperature Cycle Test
Environmental chamber with a PID controller with ramp/soak programming capabilities and data transmission for remote plotting, electronic inputs for activating/deactivating devices during the test cycle and cycle counter.
Vibration Test
Electrodynamic vibration table with the following characteristics:
• Sine (Pk): 2,000 kgf (4,400 lbf)
• Random (Rms): 2,000 kgf (4,400 lbf)
• Shock (Pk): 4,000 kgf (8,800 lbf)
•Usable Frequency: 5-3,000Hz
Temperature Cycle for Vibration Test
Can be operated as a stand-alone environmental chamber or combined with the vibration system. Interior size: 1500(W) x 1500(H) x 1500(D) mm. Temperature range: -60 to 120°C. Humidity range: 20% to 98% R.H. Temperature ramp up: 5°C/min. Temperature ramp down: 3°C/min
Stone Chip Impact Test
Pressure: 0 – 600 Kpa (0 - 6 bar).
Time for feeding shot: 8 – 12 s (adjustable) Chilled-iron grit: 4 mm to 5 mm.
Impact angle: 45°, 55° and 90°.
Engine Cooling Test
Online data acquisition for air flow control, coolant flow control. oil flow control, temperature control, and data acquisition pressure drop air side, coolant side, or oil side.
Pressure Cycle Test Bench
Online data acquisition for pressure control, temperature control, pressure inlet and outlet, and cycle count. Test frequency of 0.3 to 1 Hz. Air Pressure of 0 to 650 kPa. Air temperature of 20ºC max and ambient temperature of 90ºC max.
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis
Optimize every part
The engineers at ICS visualize and verify designs through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. This is a pivotal point in the design process as we optimize airflow in our systems.
Although we still perform physical tests of our systems in real-life and extreme situations in the Climate Tunnel, CFD analysis plays a key role as an effective solution in acquiring necessary data of our components.
